Carl is a senior litigation attorney in the San Diego office of The Estate Lawyers. His practice focuses on contested trust, estate, and probate litigation matters, representing beneficiaries, trustees, administrators, executors, heirs, creditors, and conservators/guardians. With a decade of experience in trusts and estates, Carl works closely with clients to efficiently obtain advantageous outcomes with empathy while helping to protect the intentions of the decedent. Carl is also a Panelist on the San Diego County Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service, and Court Appointed Attorney List for San Diego County Probate Court.
During law school, Carl assisted leading state attorneys and other fiduciaries to draft the Montana Uniform Trust code that was adopted by the legislature in 2013. While earning his Master of Laws at the University of San Diego School of Law, he was awarded the Graduate Law Merit Scholarship and the Richard A. Shaw Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Record & Legal Experience.
Carl was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2024. This selection is based off an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice. Being selected to Rising Stars is limited to a small number of attorneys in each state. As one of the few attorneys to garner the distinction of Rising Stars, Carl earned the respect of peers as one of the top-rated attorneys in the nation.
